Mexico. The current one is a period of transition to IP technologies, as well as in the past it happened from SD to HD and so many other migrations, said Ignacio González, Sales Director for Central and South America of Lawo.
"This is a period of transition and as we file these small doubts it will be implemented more quickly. IP technology is very democratizing; it opens the doors to many people because it can be accessed on many levels, from a very basic one to a very complex one and that allows any client with many or few resources to access it relatively easily, "he said during Expo Cine, TV y Video 2016.
And he stated: "Finally, investing in IP equipment in the long run is always cheaper, because hardware is a base technology on which different parameters will then grow, therefore it is more profitable to invest in IP than in baseband."
The Iberian executive mentioned that migration to IP is a widespread trend: "No one doubts the market trend to migrate to IP anymore. If this is not a reality today, it is due to costs, because it implies a renewal of technology, although it is much cheaper to renew an IP technology than a baseband and because customers have a certain ignorance of the technology that implies sectors of people who know a lot about audio and video, but there are certain gaps with the IP environment."
