Mexico. The Over-The-Top (OTT) market in Latin America continues to grow sharply as major TV companies in the region continue to launch and improve their offerings in this segment. And for this they require more powerful tools for the transfer of content with increasing resolutions, such as 4K.
For this, Aspera offers ideal solutions, said Pedro Silvestre, Sales Director for Latin America and the Caribbean of Aspera, a subsidiary of IBM. "We are seeing a lot of activity in OTT operations in which Aspera's solution is also needed to be able to receive content, which then these OTT operations will be able to monetize with end users," he said during his participation in Expo Cine, TV y Video, held in Mexico City from Tuesday, June 28 to Friday, July 1, 2016.
He added: "There are a lot of investments in OTT, because all the big companies and TV stations are setting up their own operations and they need an effective mechanism to receive content and we are joining those projects to expand in that market."
Silvestre mentioned that his solution is adaptable to large chains, but also to smaller companies. "We are also behind other markets, such as smaller TV stations, since our solution is not expensive, you can start small and grow it according to the needs; we have a very wide market, which can be from a small production company to large stations or strong telecommunications networks."
