Colombia. Since 2009 a new story began to be told in the city, one that has marked the audiovisual industry thanks to the Bogotá Audiovisual Market – BAM, which celebrates seven years promoting different actors in the sector to fulfill the dream of reaching the screens of the world in all formats.
This program of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá and Proimágenes Colombia, with the support of the Fund for Cinematographic Development, has established itself as an important stage for the Colombian audiovisual industry and one of the obligatory markets of Latin America.
As one of the novelties, for this edition a new section BAM Stories: Connecting producers and screenwriters was opened (BAM STORIES: Connecting producers and screenwriters) designed for screenwriters with the purpose of involving them in this audiovisual market that brings together stories in all formats. In this section can participate screenwriters who have been shortlisted in the modalities of script writing or development of feature films and animation of the call of the Film Development Fund in the years 2013, 2014 and 2015.
The feature film must not have been shot nor gained stimuli of feature film production. Those selected will be able to participate in an event for screenwriters that seeks to generate spaces for dialogue and contacts within the framework of the BAM, in addition to being part of the official catalog and attending the programming.
"The BAM opens more and more spaces to other audiovisual formats in order to contribute to the strengthening of this sector, which is one of the main productive bets of Bogotá-region, which is evidenced by the fact that this sector is covered by the Smart Specialization Strategy and by working within the framework of a cluster initiative of the city-region", Marco Llinás, Vice President of Competitiveness and Shared Value of the CCB
For Claudia Triana, director of Proimágenes, "The call is aimed at opening the door to new stories. Many good ideas remain in the script stage and the meeting with producers seeks to generate dynamics so that they are realized and can reach the screens".
A space for commercial exhibition
In addition to the one-to-one meetings with producers, the meeting spaces for the realization of alliances and business, the Bogotá Audiovisual Market – BAM brings the BAM (Big Top) tent, a new service fair in the Modern Gymnasium where attendees can meet and access the offer of the different companies related to audiovisual production.
Camera, editing, production and post-production services, among others, will be made visible in this space in which companies will be able to promote their services, strengthen and consolidate commercial alliances. In this space there will be a gastronomic offer with "Food trucks" that will give a special touch to the event.
