Mexico. The Plenary of the Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, resolved to grant AT&T Comunicaciones Digitales, S. de R.L. de C.V. (AT&T) and Radiomóvil Dipsa, S.A. de C.V. (Telcel) the concession titles corresponding to the PUBLIC TENDER IFT-3, to use, exploit and exploit frequency bands of the radio spectrum for commercial use in the frequency band 1710-1780 MHz/2110-2180 MHz (AWS Band).
Both winning companies of the bidding process, separately, accredited to the Institute the fulfillment of the payment of the consideration they offered for the allocation of the spectrum in the established time.
Additionally, Telcel notified the Institute on May 17, the conclusion of the work related to the change of frequency bands that it had concessioned within the band 1710-1755/2110-2155 MHz, in terms of the provisions of the Bidding Rules and the Resolution issued by the Plenary on April 27, in which the change of bands that said company requested in order to make the use of the spectrum more efficient was authorized. that had already been previously assigned in that frequency segment.
This reorganization will allow the winning participants of the Tender to have contiguous blocks of spectrum situation that favors the efficient use of this resource and that will result in higher data transfer speeds and better mobile phone services, for the benefit of end users.
In both cases, the titles that were granted will be linked to concessions enabling the commercial provision of telecommunications services already held by the winning concessionaires.
