Peru. The owners of the radio and television stations, affiliated to the Coordinator of Local Media of Peru -Peru Radios-, elected as their new president for the period 2016 – 2018 Martín Piaggio Farfán replacing Enrique Melgar Moscoso, who successfully completed his term as president on May 1.
The appointment was approved by the 24 regional delegates from all over the country, who supported the proposal made by the Executive Council of the Coordinator of Local Media of Peru, in accordance with the statutes of the organization.
Martín Piaggio Farfán is a prominent lawyer from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. He has extensive experience in broadcasting services and advocating for the interests of local and regional broadcasters. He was Executive Director of the National Institute for Research in Public Policies, external auditor at OSIPTEL, advisor in the Congress of the Republic, also worked in the Comptroller General of the Republic and the Ministry of the Interior.
In this assembly, the regional delegates and the Executive Council of the Coordinator of Local Media of Peru, also agreed on the following:
Approve the Work Plan of the new Executive Council corresponding to the year 2016.
Organize in the month of October of this year the Annual Convention of Radio and Television Communicators called "Todo Radio TV" simultaneously with Expotec Peru 2016.
Within the framework of the Annual Convention of Radio and Television Communicators, convene the future authorities of the Executive (Vice Minister of Communications) and the Legislative (President of the Transport and Communications Commission and new elected Congressmen), to raise the pending issues in broadcasting.
Accept the incorporation of new broadcasters to the Coordinator of Local Media of Peru – PERU RADIOS, to expand the assembly of delegates to 195, one for each province.
Distinguish Broadcasters - Journalists with more than 50 years in radio and/or television.
Strengthen and improve the business and commercial capacities of local and regional radio and television.
