Latin America. The digital revolution that began at the end of the 90s, also had an impact on the company DVEO (Digital Video ExtraOrdinaire™), which was dedicated to computing, but in 2001 decided to open a new broadcast line to take advantage of the moment.
Sergio Ammirata, Ph.D, Chief Technical Officer of DVEO, told TvyVideo+Radio that the company has a strong presence in the North American market, where it is headquartered, but with a global presence through integrators. Their next goal is expansion in Latin America, which began with Mexico and they hope to expand to other countries in the region through integrators.
"Our first presence in Latin America was in Mexico, taking advantage of the transition to digital that the television industry was experiencing. Our products were very well received. Now that the other countries in the region are in that process, we want to seize the moment," he said.
The company's products for digital television are present in several lines. The most important are encoders and decoders and technology for live streaming. "Our system can take any digital signal, even from analog cameras, and transform it into an IP signal to send to any device or web page."
To bring all these products to the rest of Latin America, DVEO is looking for integrators or distributors who have an engineering department that allows them to provide local support and advice to customers with their projects, not who sells a box only.
"The type of partner we are looking for is someone who has the ability to be an integrator, not just a reseller of equipment and that allows us to strengthen our media server line that provides a turnkey solution for IPTV without having to have recurring costs per user. It is a new concept in the market that we are starting this year and is useful for small and medium-sized companies in Latin America," said Sergio Ammirata, Ph.D.
Finally, he pointed out that the company has an important participation with all broadcasters in the United States, which have DVEO equipment for their operation. Likewise, Sony, Harmonic, Arris, Cisco, have some DVEO equipment for laboratory or development needs with which they cover segments where they do not reach.
