Colombia. The National Directorate of Taxes DIAN advances an anti-evasion plan that seeks to confront those who do not pay taxes or find a way to evade them. According to Santiago Rojas, Director of the DIAN, the goal is 130.1 billion pesos in 2016 for which they are based on the execution of five key points:
1. Application of technology in the life cycle of DIAN documents at the national level
2. Implementation of the promotion and massification of electronic invoicing in Colombia
3. Dissemination of the communication model of the national tax and customs system
4. Improvement of electronic computer services and the technological platform of the DIAN at the national level
5. Adaptation and maintenance of the physical infrastructure of the DIAN headquarters at the national level
To achieve their purpose, they will make an investment of 185,559.9 million pesos, data published in www.dian.gov.co/descargas/sobredian/PlanInstitucional.
The representatives of the pay-TV industry could not go unnoticed this situation and decided to give their support to this bold plan, making clear their will and willingness to do so. This was made known in the communiqué issued on February 10, after meeting on the 4th.
The following is the statement:
Communiqué to the public opinion Colombian cable television industry for self-regulation, peace and reconciliation
In response to the requirements made by the Office of the Comptroller General of the Nation to the ANTV and the anti-evasion plan currently being carried out by the DIAN, the representative members of various organizations that are part of this Colombian cable television industry, meeting in the city of Bogotá on February 4, are allowed to inform public opinion that they are committed to the National Government, in compliance with the rules and the law, as well as with national sentiment for peace and reconciliation.
In this order of ideas and in compliance with this determination, the necessary mechanisms will be implemented to establish self-regulation within the sector to prevent this type of practices from continuing to be carried out by those Colombian closed television companies that affect the general image of the sector, both nationally and internationally.
On the other hand, and also victims of piracy by unscrupulous people who interfere with distribution networks, as well as criminal groups that attack telecommunications networks on a daily basis, we ask the District Administration to take into account within its shock plan, the bands of illegal sale of assets and liabilities of the analog and digital cable television networks by which also the television industry by cable it loses millions of pesos daily.
As since its birth providing Colombians with entertainment to the most remote corners of the national geography as the least favored sectors of the capital, being the industry that generates employment and sustainability to thousands of families, we reiterate our commitment to the country and to our Colombia.
We are a growing industry that requires the State to take it into account in issues such as Paz Colombia. We are ready to be part of the post-conflict in the country, our jobs generated, compensation and other taxes are already contributing to the development for Colombia because we are part of that great group of Colombians who bet on Peace.
