Colombia. On October 29, the National Television Authority( ANTV) published circular 017 in which it informs about the importance and duty of the State to protect intellectual property for the time and formalities established by law and what is stated in Law 182 of 1995 and the regulatory agreements issued by the CNTV in this matter.
Likewise, it requires subscription television operators to accredit to this entity the strict compliance and application of copyright rules, providing support for contracts, agreements, authorizations that allow them to retransmit encoded signals that they broadcast on their programming grids, as well as the audiovisual works and programs that they distribute on their own reproduction channel. The information must reach the ANTV, before December 31, 2015, with a header of the communication that refers to circular 017.
With this procedure, the ANTV complies with the provisions of article 61 of the Political Constitution of Colombia, article 5 of Law 182 of 1995, article 11 of Law 1507 of 2012 and article 17 of agreement 10 of 2006.
