Colombia. The ANTV aims, through the Fund for the Development of Television and Content – FONTV-, among others, the strengthening of public operators of the television service, so the National Television Board approved the distribution of resources for the eight regional channels and the national public operator.
The sum, which amounts to $126 billion, will be distributed among RTVC, Teleantioquia, Telecafé, Telecaribe, Telepacifico, Teleislas, TV Andina, Canal TRO and Canal Capital for the 2016 term.
The National Television Authority - ANTV, delivers these resources in compliance with the provisions of Law 1507 of 2012, to make television a factor in the development of Colombian society, through the construction of conditions that favor a greater offer of television services.
The Director of the entity, Ángela María Mora Soto, said that the ANTV works so that people continue to watch more television and the contents are, without a doubt, a continuous concern, that is why it is committed to supporting and regulating them, to have a television with quality.
It is important to remember that recently the National Television Authority - ANTV approved the implementation of the third phase of Digital Terrestrial Television - DTT for the installation of 14 stations in that country with an investment of $ 34,147 million.
With this, in mid-2016 the primary network of public TV would be digitized, composed of high power stations and great coverage. Radio Televisión Nacional de Colombia - RTVC will be the operator in charge of executing the resources that will benefit the regional channels.
The goal of the ANTV is to expand the current coverage of 70.3% of the population on digital terrestrial television to 86.9%.
