Peru. The broadcasters of Peru, within the framework of the National Congress, agreed to create the Peruvian Chamber of Radio and Television (CaperTV), a trade union body that will represent the entrepreneurs and owners of the stations that operate locally and regionally throughout the country.
The decision was adopted unanimously by some 500 broadcasters who were present at the National Congress organized by the Coordinadora de Medios Perú, successfully held in Lima on October 15, 16 and 17.
After the first agreement, the debate was opened to elect the National Transitional Directive, which will be responsible for regularizing the formal documentation and the organization of the Regional and Provincial Chambers that will be part of the Peruvian Chamber of Radio and Television. In this way to form the national business guild of local and regional radio and television.
The businessmen elected as National Directors of the broadcasters guild are: as President, Carlos Cuaresma Sánchez (Cusco), Vice-President, Alex Samaniego Pletikosic (Lima), Secretary Mario Monteverde Pomareda (Tarma - Junín), as Treasurer Edgar Saldaña Reátegui (Lima).
Humberto Maldonado Ramón (Chiclayo), Fernando Rondinel Diaz (Tacna), Bacario Bautista Yucra (Ica), Raúl Vásquez Sánchez (Trujillo), Guadalupe Apaza Quispe (Juliaca-Puno), Robin Muñóz Tamariz (Ancash), Ramiro Seijas Vallez (Pucallpa), Alberto Portugal (Ilo), Macedo Valeriano Rueda Quintana (Puerto Maldonado), Alberto Priano Soberón (Piura), Hugo Orozco Vivanco (Apurímac) and Leoncio Cuti (Arequipa) were elected as national members (records are kept for each province).
The swearing-in of the new directors was in charge of Edgar Guevara Soto, Director of the Peru Media Coordinator, who invoked the broadcasters to unite and strengthen broadcasting to better contribute to the country, defend the validity of their authorizations, defend freedom of expression, democracy and fight against corruption.
