Latin America. Business Bureau, BB, EGEDA, an entity that represents and defends the Rights of Producers against Audiovisual Piracy, and ARIBSAN, Ibero-American Isan Registry Agency, join forces for the registration and protection of audiovisual works in Latin America from the use and implementation of the ISAN Code.
This is the universal standard established by ISO for the identification of audiovisual works and recordings, as well as the ISBN for books or the ISWC for musical pieces.
The main objective is to achieve the universal identification of audiovisual works through a numbering and identification system that remains unchanged throughout the life of the work. ISAN is a unique, permanent and internationally recognized reference number that is assigned to feature films, fiction or animation series, documentaries, advertising spots, video clips, live shows, news, sports broadcasts, etc.
This unique identification allows a more efficient management of the global audiovisual industry. The ISAN code helps in the commercial chain of works, allows an effective cataloguing and control of them, facilitates the exchange of electronic information, improves the management of intellectual property rights and forms a fundamental element for the transparency of information.
The incorporation of the ISAN code is aimed at all producers in the audiovisual industry, including producers, authors, broadcasters, distributors, advertisers, audiovisual consultants, media audience companies, as well as any organization or entity in the sector.
