International. IBC 2015 ushered in a new era for the company that until now was known as Snell Quatel. In the five months since NAB, the company has reviewed and brought together all aspects of the two companies to create a new company, SAM, with a unique blend of experience and energy.
"Our vision is to own the space between content creation and distribution – to be our clients' partner of choice, to navigate the transition to the new world of agile content and consumer-driven vision. To do this, we have embarked on a visionary development plan that will allow our customers to transition their business models at a pace that suits them, providing security in this time of unprecedented change," the company explained in a statement.
To deliver this, they increased engineering investment in all product lines, infrastructure, news production systems, image processing, MAM, broadcast and live production.
IBC unveiled the first big steps in this roadmap, a risk-free transition path for IP routing and cloud-based broadcasting for customers' future investments of today's systems, allowing them to maximize efficiency and productivity without the cost and disruption of infrastructure and system replacement. They also showed a complete live 4K production workflow.
"All of our staff are fully committed to the new company. SAM is poised to become a major force in our industry in the coming months and years," the statement added.
