Central American regulators to meet at AndinaLink

Costa Rica. In partnership with the platform of regulators of the audiovisual sector of Ibero-America PRAI, this year the FICA forum of AndinaLink, will have a segment dedicated exclusively to analyze the regulatory challenges of Central America, which has been called: "Great challenges for a sector with immense opportunities".

In a global market threatened by the new virtual technological platforms called OTT, with a strong Monopolization of the sector, in the face of an inexhaustible technological diversification, the television industry is in check, the business model changed dramatically in less than a decade and the current regulatory models have become obsolete, demanding new regulatory schemes that fail to curdle, because the neutrality agreements signed by the governments of the region prevent regulators from intervening in the market to balance it.

It is for all the above that AndinaLink and the PRAI have organized an academic day that aims to provide elements of analysis and reflection on the current regulatory landscape of the television industry, allowing attendees to understand the current dimension of the market and the challenges faced by regulators in this material.

Central American academic experts will participate in this event, as well as representatives of the regulatory bodies of the PRAI, such as Oscar Reyes who is the vice president of the entity and President of the National Television Council of Chile, as well as representatives of Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Paraguay, among many other Ibero-American countries. Also during the event, the official incorporation of the SICOM of Paraguay as an observer member of the PRAI and several Central American regulators that will become part of this collegiate body will be announced.
