Central America. The Ibero-American Educational and Cultural Television Program (TEIb) held a Technological Seminar aimed at the presidents and directors of public service televisions in Central America and the Caribbean.
This Technological Seminar was addressed to the presidents and directors of public service televisions of Central America and the Caribbean in which representatives of Channel 6 of Nicaragua, National Radio and Television System - SINART of Costa Rica, State Radio and Television System - SERTV of Panama, National Television of El Salvador - Channel 10, TV Maya of Guatemala, National Radio and Television of Honduras and the Central American Educational and Cultural Coordination / Central American Integration System – CECC/SICA.
This seminar is part of Central America In Network. During the first day, held at the facilities of the Official Institute of Spanish Radio and Television, a series of sessions were held by Mr. Pere Vila, Director of Technology, Innovation and Systems of the Spanish Radio television Corporation, aimed at developing strategies for the process of change from analog to digital in Ibero-American televisions and in which topics such as the changes produced in the formats and production tools and ways of accessing content by the public, all from a technological point of view.
Among other actions, the realization of a common strip of programming of Central American scope that will have as its starting point a specific training workshop that, at the proposal of the representative of Channel 6 of Nicaragua, is scheduled to be held in july in that country.
Finally, within the framework of this seminar, attendees made a visit to the headquarters of Hispasat, to know first-hand the technological aspects related to Central America In Network, since Hispasat will grant the Internet connection via satellite between the new sub-headquarters of TEIb – ATEI at the University of Panama, and the public service televisions of Central America and the Caribbean that make up this initiative.
