Latin America. A year ago the integration of Miranda and Grass Valley was announced, both remaining under the name of the latter. In this time they have lived a process of integration of technologies and organization to function as a single brand.
Leonel da Luz, grass Valley's director for Latin America, told TVyVideo that this has been a rather complex process. "A lot has been done this year in terms of product integration, internal processes and human resources. And also the local representations of each of the countries."
With the exception of the cameras that are still being produced in the Netherlands, all Grass Valley equipment is being produced in Canada, for which a new module was built in the factory. The consolidation of a single company and under the same brand should be 100% in June.
About the team to serve Latin America, Leonel da Luz explained that the two companies had different work models and decided to adopt the Miranda model, having local people. He serves from Miami, and has local sales staff in Argentina, Colombia and Mexico, and three more in Brazil.
In terms of technical support, they have six people in Brazil, one in Ecuador, one in Peru, in addition to certified distributors in some countries to support the entire region.
Regarding the Latin market for Grass Valley, Leonel da Luz commented that although it is not very large within the total sales of the company, it is important for the growth possibilities it offers, because there are still many things to do in the region.
