Argentina. Christie demonstrated his state-of-the-art cinema technology at Vista 2015, the film convention that took place at the Village Recoleta cinemas and the Buenos Aires Auditorium during the first week of May 2015 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Organized by Ultracine and with Christie as the main sponsor, Vista is one of the most important film industry events in the region. This fifth edition included exclusive product presentations, exhibitions, trailers of the most important films of the season, meetings and conferences on distribution, marketing and advertising, as well as advances in new equipment and technologies.
Christie presented its Solaria Series of DLP Cinema projectors that are capable of displaying movies and alternative HFR content in 2K/4K/2D/3D in their original format, giving the audience the best possible visual experience. Specifically, it exhibited the Christie CP2220, a projector of 22,000 lumens and 2K resolution (easily upgraded to 4K).
Christie also showed Vive Audio, the audio system with surround wall and ceiling speakers, which are powered by ribbon-driver technology in a parabolic linear arrangement design, built especially for the cinema environment. The Vive Audio system is designed to support the leading cinema audio formats, including Dolby Atmos.
Juan Carlos Chávez, Christie's director for Latin America, commented that "We are confident that the products on display will reinforce our position as pioneers and world leaders in cinema audio and video solutions that offer the best and most complete cinematic experience to film buffs."
Recently, Christie's digital cinema projectors have been deployed at Hoyts Chile, Kinoplex Brazil and Village Cinemas and COTO in Argentina, among other South American cinema chains.
"The demand for Christie's cinema solutions in Latin America is growing remarkably, with important projects taking place right now that will help clients create the best shared experiences in the world," Chavez concluded.
