NAB. Avid Connect gathered in Las Vegas, prior to the NAB Show, about 1,100 users of the company's systems from five continents, who received training on how to best take advantage of each team.
The event was the stage to present the vision that the company has on how the audio and video industry should work, and to which the technological solutions that were at the fair respond.
Ángel Ylisastigui, from Avid Latin America, explained to TVyVideo that the vision of the company, led by its president Louis Hernández Jr, is that everyone can access technology from anywhere, through platforms that allow professionals to dedicate themselves to creative work and not with distractions from the technical.
In that sense, they propose systems such as the new version of Protools, which allows, for example, to make a recording of a song without the musicians being all gathered in the same place. But they can communicate and share their work without affecting quality.
They also seek to provide new options to all creatives, large and small, with the First version of some of their systems, a free version that allows them to approach, perform professional work and then acquire it complete or through licenses.
Another benefit is the Avid Marketplace, a platform on which creatives can upload their content and tag it, as a way to disseminate and protect it, opening the market to everyone, making it more accessible.
Finally, he stressed that Latin America continues to be an important market for the company. Last year the group serving the region was recognized as the fastest growing within Avid. In addition, of those attending Avid Connect, 15% were Latino.
