NAB. Grass Valley and Cisco are working together on the development of IP systems. As a result of this work they are presenting at NAB a demonstration of remote live production workflow over IP.
The demo illustrates an interoperable workflow, from the Cisco booth to the Grass Valley live production booth, managed by Grass Valley's new converged SDN (software-defined network) solution. This workflow shows how broadcasters can deploy live production over IP, scalable, programmable and advanced IP technologies with minimal delay, no loss, and shows the growing interoperability between providers.
From the Cisco booth, the new Grass Valley LDX 86 4K XF IP camera will send a 2022-6 signal through two Cisco switches via a 10 GigE link between the North and South pavilions of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The Grass Valley NVISION 8500 IP router and Kaleido multivisor will also be at the Cisco booth with access to sources, including cameras, from the Grass Valley booth. The Cisco 7000 and 3000 Multiple Nexus switchers will have a multiplier effect in the Grass Valley cockpit, both living in the engineering room and theater area.
