Colombia. Evertz is working IP solutions that cover the entire infrastructure of a large or small channel, with developments that allow them to adapt to new technologies, even with hybrid systems that come very well to Latin America.
Nicolas Ponomariv, Evertz's regional sales director for Latin America, explained to TVyVideo that "by introducing IP solutions to the broadcast world we are not changing ways of working or technologies. What we do is present what we developed at Evertz, using the same control system with the SDI router, now with an IP array. We are making hybrid solutions so that a channel can continue to use its HD equipment but introducing new IP technologies with 10 GE ports, through which 4K signals can be passed and thus ensure performance for the next 10 or 15 years."
On the adoption of this technology in the region, he commented that Latin America, like the rest of the world, is already accepting that the industry is going towards 4K and fiber connections, where production can be done in 4K and in the near future it will move to 8K. And it's going to happen faster than people imagine.
"In Latin America we are doing very well because the company is still stable, everything we produce in Canada, we do not depend on third parties or change hands or name as happened with our competition. This gives confidence to existing and new customers, who were very loyal to other brands and are now approaching us. We can assure them that from now until now we will not change our name, we will not sell ourselves and we will continue to produce in Canada," concluded Nicolas Ponomariv.
