Mexico. The Plenary of the Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, approved the Declaration of Principles of the Institute, from which the public servants of this regulatory body will guide their work, in consistency with the provisions of the legal framework that governs it. The Principles under which officials will govern their actions are: Autonomy, Objectivity and Impartiality, Effectiveness and Efficiency, Transparency, Legality and Certainty, Institutional Loyalty, Accountability, Professionalism, Honesty and Equality, seeking at all times the benefit of society.
These Principles shall govern all public servants of the Institute, without exception of activity, level or function. In this sense, its fulfillment depends on the commitment and good judgment of the staff of the Institute, so it does not replace or modify the validity of the regulations that are applicable to them in the exercise of their functions and will promote the vocation of public service and the sense of belonging.
Likewise, the Plenary approved the Code of Conduct for Public Servants of the Institute, which defines the rules of behavior that must guide the conduct of the public servants of the Institute, in the performance of their jobs, positions and commissions, in specific situations that are presented to them.
With this guide for the exercise of the powers of the public servants of the Institute, they seek to lay solid foundations to preserve the credibility of the IFT as an independent, professional, effective and transparent regulatory and competition authority, which contributes to the development of telecommunications and broadcasting, to the advancement of the information and knowledge society in the country.
That is why the conducts defined by this Code are mandatory for all personnel who perform a job, position or commission of any nature in the Federal Institute of Telecommunications.
As part of the Basic Conduct Guidelines of the Institute, contained in the Code of Conduct, an Ethics and Inclusion Committee will be installed, which will be responsible for promoting a culture of integrity in the workplace, as well as inclusion and non-discrimination practices to form a stimulating and participatory work environment; based on trust, respect for dignity, diversity and equity, which contributes to the fulfillment of institutional objectives and goals.
