Paraguay. Within the framework of Asunción Media Show 2014, which was held last week in Paraguay, Canal U of Uruguay signed an agreement with Tigo STAR for the incorporation of the signal to the basic grid of the cable operator and the beginning of a relationship for the elaboration of audiovisual content in conjunction with the Paraguayan Government.
Raúl Ibáñez, Business Unit Manager Home at Tigo, pointed out that "For us it is an important challenge to incorporate Canal U into the Tigo STAR grid. An exchange between two peoples, where the Uruguayan brothers will have a presence in Paraguay and where we too can reach Uruguay with our traditions and customs. Welcome Canal U to Paraguay."
For his part, Pablo Scotellaro, President of Canal U, thanked "the confidence of our country, the trust of the cable television operators represented by the Chamber and, especially, Tigo STAR who opens an incredible horizon of Uruguay".
He also commented that what arose as the idea of seeking a space for integration, ended in the presence of Canal U in the basic grid from September, in offering the Paraguayan State a weekly space of one hour with the best of tourism in Paraguay and, with the advance that they are in a position to start generating the SIS, which is the 'Southern Information System', integrated by Canal U, TN and Unicanal.
"This system will focus on making a weekly evaluation of the news of the region, where today we are taking an extremely important step for Latin American unity; because many things are speeches, these are realities," Scotellaro said.
