International. Avid announced new details about Avid Connect, the inaugural event of the Avid Customer Association, which will take place April 4-6, 2014 at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, just before the NAB Show. George Bodenheimer, EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN of ESPN and former co-director of Disney Media Networks, will give the keynote address on the morning of April 6, just after discussion by a panel of industry leaders.
On Saturday, April 5, the company will reveal the next phases of Avid Everywhere, its vision for the future of the media industry and present a demo on the technology. A complete repertoire of work sessions to continue deepening on Avid Everywhere for the broadcast, video and audio communities will take place during the afternoon of the same Saturday, April 5.
The Avid Customer Association (ACA) was announced in September 2013 as a comprehensive initiative designed to deliver essential strategic leadership to the media industry, collaborate with key industry leaders and visionaries, and deepen relationships between the company and its customers. The multifaceted program will invite its network of creative, media and broadcast clients to address the most important issues facing the media industry today.
"We are overwhelmed by the enthusiasm we have seen for this initiative and the interest in our inaugural event, Avid Connect. The Avid Customer Partnership and Avid Connect form the framework to facilitate strategic collaboration across the industry. While we have always attached great importance to being in close contact with our customers, the ACA allows us to work together on a more strategic level now that the entire community comes together to chart a path for the industry," says Louis Hernandez, Jr., president and CEO of Avid.
To attend Avid Connect, there are registered participants representing more than 40 countries and the highest ranks and professionals from Avid's broadcast, audio and video customer base. Although there are still a few spots available to participate in Avid Connect, the space is quickly filling up for this limited capacity event.
