International. Imagine Communications, which provides digital video solutions for bandwidth-efficient services with optimal video quality, was acquired by Harris Broadcast. This was announced by Charlie Vogt, president of the latter.

The acquisition enhances Harris Broadcast's portfolio of solutions as the company builds the first true MultiService SDN, integrating sales, programming, playout automation and delivery, both nonlinear and linear content distribution networks. It also brings advanced transcoding technology that uses cutting advanced state-of-the-art software running in high-density, low-power commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and server blade environments, in keeping with Harris Broadcast's vision of software-centric and virtualized operations.
