Latin America. The group of Latino channels and their newscasts that make up the Latin American Information Alliance, AIL, is looking to grow the offer to its viewers. That's why he's in talks with Enex, a similar channel alliance that works in Europe and has twice as many affiliates.
The director of AIL, Juan Carlos Isaza, told TV Y VIDEO that "The idea is to integrate the two AIL/ENEX organizations to turn the collaboration of these television stations into a true global operation, so far eight of the 21 channels of the AIL have joined ENEX."
Among the channels he mentions are Caracol Televisión from Colombia, TVN from Panama, TV Azteca from Mexico, Proyecto 40 from Mexico, WAPA from Puerto Rico, Noticias SIN from the Dominican Republic, Ecuavisa from Ecuador and Monte Carlo Televisión from Uruguay. And there is a strong possibility that ATV of Peru and Telefuturo of Paraguay will join this organization.
The entry of Latino channels into the European alliance was made official last October, during the ENEX general assembly that was held at the CBS facilities in New York and in which the 57 allied channels from around the world participated.
Juan Carlos Isaza added that next December nine and ten will take place the annual meeting of COORDINATORS of ENEX in Dublin, Ireland, where the 42 channels of that organization will meet, to discuss how to improve the forms of collaboration and connectivity between these private television stations, options that will undoubtedly benefit Latinos who are linked.
