Venezuela. The Minister for Industries of Venezuela, Ricardo Menendez, said this week that the Samsung company will begin to produce televisions and other types of appliances in a plant that will be installed in Venezuela and from which part of the demand of the region would be met.
In the statements given by the minister to state television, he explained that the factory will have production capacity for Venezuela's domestic market as with export capabilities. He added that the project, which is in the first phase, will seek to produce televisions, monitors, cell phones, tablets, as well as washing machines, dryers and refrigerators.
He also recalled that the agreement was signed last December by then-President Hugo Chávez, in order to boost electronic exports to Mercosur member countries, benefiting from the reduction of tariffs for products that must be imported required in the manufacture of products.
This news has caught the attention of market agents, not only because the economic benefits of creating an assembly plant, but also because Venezuela's economic conditions for imports from the country have many problems at the time of payments.
