International. To normalize the audio of its transmissions, Televisión Española TVE made a significant investment in technology in volume control systems of Jünger Audio, updating the equipment it had acquired in 2003 from the same company, to be on par with the high definition systems in image.
As a result, it upgraded its Jünger Audio B40 and B46 to incorporate SDI card processors, making them more compatible with its current Dolby products. The investment also included nine C8000 systems, bringing the total number of these systems in use at its facilities to 35.
Alberto Palazón, commercial manager of ASPA, Spanish distributor of Jünger Audio in charge of supplying and installing the new equipment, indicated that "TVE initially chose Jünger Audio equipment, since it was looking for a transparent processor that could normalize the audio through several channels without compressing the signal or distorting the sound".
He also commented that some of the new equipment is being used mainly for play-out and for the editors' rooms in Torrespaña, TVE's broadcasting place in Barcelona. Other systems were also installed at TVE's production centre in San Cugat del Vallés, Barcelona.
Paloma Sampedro, head of TVE's audiovisual production unit, added: "We are very happy with Jünger Audio's C8000 systems and the improvements we have made to our B40 and B46 units. We now have a complete solution that allows us to decode SDI signals and other audio processes."
