Mexico. Live Televisión is the new commitment of Grupo Salinas de México to reach the Internet content market through one of its companies, Totalmovie, and that will be released from the first quarter of 2013.
As explained to the media by Ricardo Salinas, this new proposal will have a wide variety of content and formats, such as news, sports, children, as well as programs broadcast on Azteca channels.
Live Television will have the support of Sony, as the two companies reached an agreement through which Live Television will have an application that will be available in all consumer products manufactured by Sony.
The president of the Salinas Group added that this new proposal will be available to reach users directly and will also have access with offers from wholesalers on par with the main international telecommunications firms.
He pointed out that this is a commitment to take advantage of the possibilities offered by new technologies and stressed that there is a particular issue that remains to be developed in this panorama and that is the copyright of audiovisual works. In addition, he referred to another of the challenges such as the bandwidth that is required so that the contents can be used with the best quality.
