Argentina. On November 15, the first contest organized by the company DataFactory will be awarded, which seeks to recognize those who generate innovative proposals to show sports data in a different way.
The first version of the Tecnogol Challenge: Football and Creativity, is aimed at journalists, journalism students, programmers, designers and footballers in general. Participation requires prior registration, which is possible until the day of the event, and those who wish to present themselves can do so both individually and as a team.
Ernesto Cambursano, CEO of DataFactory, commented that "as a leading company in sports statistics, we want to inspire new entrepreneurial minds who think about football – and all the data that can be generated from this sport – in a different and original way".
The winners will be those works that devise solutions and applications that mean a rediscovery in the field of statistical journalism and innovative creations. That is why the requirements of the competition are not limited to a single platform but can be presented works in code format, HTML, .JPG or .DOC, which can be used and readapted for any type of medium.
All presentations will be evaluated by a jury made up of Fabián Minotto, General News Producer of TyC Sports and Eduardo Barraza, General Manager of Conmebol.com and Director of Pasión Libertadores.com, among other recognized journalists and specialists in technological developments.
The award ceremony will be held within the framework of the Day of the Entrepreneur, a contest that is organized by the government of the city of Buenos Aires. To learn more about the contest and register click here.
