International. In order to access more market niches in the broadcast industry, the Belden company, dedicated to solutions for the transmission of signals in mission-critical applications, acquired the North American Miranda Technologies.
The latter covers the entire spectrum of television, broadcasting, cable and satellite operations including production, broadcast and delivery to subscribers. In addition, it is involved in the process of migration from traditional systems to file-based processes and IT technologies, and actively collaborates with its customers in the implementation of these technologies.
According to Belden executives, one of the motivations for closing this business is that Miranda is a firm that works with all existing technologies, which allows them to master file-based processes, from ingestion to storage and issuance, and also has the most complete monitoring systems.
This business is part of the expansion plan that BELDEN has planned for the coming years, through which it adopts the modality of keeping the specialized operations of the companies it controls autonomous; such is the case of Hirschmann or Telecast Fiber Systems.
These companies are just some of those belonging to the portfolio of patents registered by Bendel, which allow the group to capture particular niches in the signal transmission market, be it the television market, or in the AV solutions market.
