International. The International Association of Broadcasting Equipment Manufacturers, IABM, has revealed the list of five finalists for the 2012 IABM Awards, which will be presented at the IBC trade fair next week in Amsterdam.
Of these five selected come two honorees, one who receives the excellence award for design and innovation and the overall winner, which is given in memory of Peter Wayne, an industry figure who through his career and participation in several groups, including the IABM, made outstanding contributions to broadcasting.
The finalists for the 2012 IABM Awards are: the company Canon with its professional digital SLR camera, reference EOS-1D C; Sony with its reference IP transmission system NXL-IP55, Civolution SyncNow with its content recognition systems; Glensound for its Electronics HD Voice; and Buddy Timecode for its Wi-Fi Master.
IABM Managing Director Peter White said: "The awards seek to identify new products and show their importance within our rapidly evolving industry. The five finalists for this year's awards have emerged through a rigorous review process. We are very happy, once again, with the quality of our five finalists."
He stressed that the judges are not affiliated with a similar company, supplier or operation. In addition, the association's Trend Survey, have identified continued investment in R&D at high levels over the past two years, and "clearly this is now manifesting itself in an increase in new products and innovations coming to market."
