International. The media group Prisa, revealed its financial results for the second quarter of the year, in which it highlighted the role of its businesses in Latin America.
In fact, revenues from Latin America grew by 10% during the period and currently represent 26.8% of the group's total earnings. This means an increase of 3.8% compared to the percentage contributed by this region in the first half of 2011.
In addition, the EBITDA (Earnings, before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of its businesses in Latin America grew by 11.5%, which consolidated it as one of the most important business areas of the company, especially given the current economic outlook of the company's parent country, Spain.
Another important item for the company was pay television, an area in which an increase in EBITDA of 8.8% was achieved. In total, the group obtained revenues of $1,277 million euros and reported an EBITDA of 209.08 million.
