Bolivia. Strengthening the television offer with content on cultural diversity and general knowledge about reality will be the objectives of Bolivia TV HD, the first digital television channel in this country.
The announcement was made by Bolivian President Evo Morales, who stressed during the presentation, that state television has been a pioneer for his country's industry since it was first presented in 1969.
Now, as the president explained, they must begin to install the repeater antennas in order to achieve digital television coverage throughout the national territory. It should be remembered that Bolivia adopted the Brazilian-Japanese digital television model, and that is why Evo Morales assured that the installation of the antennas, and of the whole process in general, will be accompanied by the government of Japan.
Gustavo Portocarrero, manager of Bolivia TV HD, said that to achieve the objectives proposed for the channel, there will be two signals, one dedicated to information and news and another through which educational and cultural content will be broadcast.
The executive added that while the antennas are massified, they will install about 60 televisions in an equal number of public places, so that the population of La Paz, capital of Bolivia, can become familiar with the quality of digital television.
