Chile. To establish a wireless communication infrastructure in its main studio, the free-to-air channel TVN Chile acquired an Acrobat system from Riedel Communications.
The new system, implemented by Intervideo, Riedel's partner in Chile, is structured in two separate phases. The first links all the studios on the corner, the outside area, where the programs are produced and broadcast, as well as parts of the corridor inside that are also covered by the Acrobat network.
The second phase is the rest of the study, which is integrated with the system.
Mauricio Rojo, Project Engineer and Assistant Director of TVN Chile, indicated that "for this project Riedel's Acrobat was compared with other existing systems in real live production conditions. The result and our choice were clear. As for the audio and mechanical quality, as well as the robustness of the equipment, nothing else came close."
TVN Chile uses an Acrobat installation with eight lines of individual parts. The second phase will expand the facility to allow up to 60 wireless users. It also has seven additional antennas and 25 Acrobat beltpacks that complement the existing system.
