United States. It's Ora.TV, a channel that will produce shows for a variety of platforms, including smartphones, computers, tablets, and internet-connected TVs. The company emerged in a deal between Mexican businessman Carlos Slim and American journalist Larry King.
The company will be led by Jon Housman, former president of digital journalism at News Corporation, the media conglomerate of tycoon Rupert Murdoch; "The exponential demand for video via mobile devices represents a good opportunity to launch a project like Ora.Tv," Housman said in a statement.
The announcement represents Larry King's return to the television screen, after he announced his retirement last year from his talk show on CNN, which aired for 27 years. According to the company, several programs are under development and will be announced in the coming months.
Ora, which means "now" in Italian, is funded by internet provider America Movil, which has Slim as its main owner. The channel will have its offices in New York and will start operating from this year, although the precise date was not established nor if the signal would be available outside the United States.
