Brazil. Rio de Janeiro was the city chosen by the company Fujifilm to open a new headquarters with its optical devices division, through Trevisans, its distributor for that country.
This is the second headquarters of the North American company in Brazil, seeking to provide a better service to its customers, because it foresees a greater demand for its products with the different high-profile sporting events that will be held in this country in the coming years.
The sporting events referenced by the company are the FIFA Confederations Cup in June 2013, the World Cup in Brazil in June 2014 and the August 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, which will require equipment for video and photographic cameras.
Toshi Tanaka, division president of Fujifilm North America Corporation, said broadcasters and production companies from around the world will gather in Rio de Janeiro and other locations in Brazil to provide live coverage of these international competitions and this is a great opportunity for his company.
For his part, Trevisan Estéfano, president of Trevisans, stressed that the new regional service center presents an opportunity to expand support to its customer base and to further expand the reach in the production community in Rio de Janeiro.
