International. Designed specifically for the cable telecommunications industry, Alpha Technologies and the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers, SCTE, produced the book "Network of Facilities and Reference Guide".
It seeks to increase the level of understanding among field engineers, professional operations and other cable personnel. It serves as a best practice manual, because it allows you to understand the issues that are the basis of the reliability of all network services.
Drew Zogby, president and CEO of Alpha Technologies, said, "We hope this Reference Guide will be a useful tool for professionals across the cable industry."
Some of the topics that can be found are: electrical principles, conductors and power of the cable specifications, outside the power plant, critical power installations and alternative energies.
One of the main motivations for working on this book is the statistics that hold that 67% of network failures are avoidable, as well as that most are caused by unintentional human error.
In partnership with other providers, SCTE is preparing a second book, seeking to turn these publications into a series of pocket reference guides for everyone in the cable industry.
