Latin America. Television continues to be the screen of choice for their free time for Latin American children between six and nine years old, while young people between 10 and 18 years old prefer the computer and browsing social networks.
This is one of the results of the study "The Interactive Generation in Ibero-America. Children and adolescents in front of screens", published by Foro Generaciones Interactivas and Fundación Telefónica, which interviewed 24,500 children between the ages of 6 and 18 from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico and Peru.
According to the study, when comparing between television or internet preferences, children in Guatemala and Ecuador prefer television, while in others the network predominates.
For its part, among young people, Guatemala deviates from the common norm, because in that country television is preferred over the network, while in others the opposite is true.
The research also indicated that about 70% of Latin American households have two or more TVs in the house, while only 4% have no TV. Of the countries analyzed, Guatemala is the country with the highest number of households without a television, about 11%.
This study confirms that if the channels and television production companies want to continue in force in the coming years they will have to advance works as Warner, which produced a series broadcast only through an application on Facebook, or Azteca, which has a project of programs designed to be seen on a cell phone.
