The new high-end UX model (AG-UX180) succeeds Panasonic's previous AVCCAM line of AVCHD professional cameras. This series incorporates a MOS sensor, 20x optical zoom and capacity for UHD 60p recordings, unlike the standard UX model (AG-UX90), whose optical zoom is 15x and records in UHD 30p.
The UX series supports recordings in 4K (4096×2160, 24p only), UHD (3840×2160) and FHD up to 120p, and uses the cameras the SD1 memory card as recording support. The high-end UX model can also record in two codecs (UHD2/FHD), infrared in low light conditions and 3G SDI/HDMI2.0 output.
The MOS sensor of UX cameras guarantees a sensitivity equivalent to that of conventional handheld cameras. It is also planned to introduce variable frame rate recording (VFR) functionality from 2 to 60 fps in FHD mode.
