Telos Alliance announced the new XNode Matrix Mixer feature, available through the latest update to the Axia XNode softwer, version 2.0. This new feature transforms any Axia AES/EBU, analog, mixed-signal, or XNode microphone into a mixing array for the opening of a variety of new applications.
The function of the mixing array will allow Axia AOIP systems to be even more flexible, by combining physical inputs, such as microphone, analog or AES inputs, with digital network inputs such as network sequences, they can be mixed as much as desired and send everything to a single output in a 1RU, and all fully compatible with AES67.
The mixing matrix allows broadcast engineers to combine numerous inputs into one output. In a use case, the output of the mixing matrix could send the program content on the air from multiple channels of an automation system directly to the transmission chain, bypassing a mixing desk to allow for better studio utilization during certain periods of the day.
