The Spectrum X software-based media server supports a wide range of SD and HD formats up to 1080p (3G) and Ultra HD. All functionality is available through license keys, resulting in a flexible system that allows the easy addition of new codecs, CIaB function, IP I/O and among other advanced functions.
By integrating SDI and IP I/O into the same chassis, Spectrum X also facilitates migration to IP playback workflows, enabling baseband transition of broadcasters at their own pace.
Spectrum X combines file input, baseband, and transport with built-in channel playback capabilities, including graphics, branding, DVE, and live switching of compressed IP and baseband sources.
This solution can work as a CiaB or as part of a shared storage infrastructure. It has great interoperability because when configured as a stand-alone server, it receives and plays from the MediaGrid shared storage. This configuration results in a highly scalable Ethernet-based shared storage system optimized for digital media workflows with virtually unlimited channel numbers.
