Latin America. Telos Alliance announced a critical software update for its Linear Acoustic AERO Series TV audio processors.
The new software, V3.32.47, contains the latest Nielsen watermark encoding library to fix a known issue with the NAES VI (NW/N6) encoder, which reset its timestamp on January 1, 2007, causing it to report incorrect information to Nielsen.
This update applies to currently on sale and supported Linear Acoustic AERO products that incorporate the Nielsen watermark option, including AERO.100, AERO.200, AERO.1000, AERO.2000, AERO.2400 and AERO.8000. Older Nielsen-coded AERO processors, including AERO.air and AERO.asi, cannot be upgraded to this version.
"Linear Acoustic has had a close partnership with Nielsen for nearly twenty years, and many of our customers choose to use Nielsen's watermark coding for audience measurement as an integral part of TV loudness processing and upmixing in our AERO products," said Larry Schindel, product manager for Linear Acoustic.
"We have been working closely with Nielsen to ensure our mutual customers have access to their latest coding library in time to upgrade their AERO units before the end of the year, and this summer we will provide a standalone upgrade for our LA-5300 Linear Acoustic processor."
