Latin America. AJA Video Systems announced the DRM2-Plus, an intuitive high-capacity 3RU chassis that can comfortably accommodate up to 24 AJA mini-converters.
Designed for a wide range of professional AV production, film/television, live production, and broadcast environments, the DRM2-Plus is available in four different models that support active or passive cooling and offer individual or redundant power supplies of up to 288 watts.
Based on the design of the AJA DRM2 unveiled at InterBEE 2023, the DRM2-Plus includes a hinged faceplate and individual brackets that allow users to easily access the mini-converters for upgrade or swapping, without the need to disassemble the rack chassis.
Additional interior space and an optional DRM2-YC Y-cable allow for rack-mounting of 12 smaller AJA FiDO and/or D5 mini-converters with Mini-Con-X power connectors to support up to 24 mini-converters in a single chassis.
The versatile design of the DRM2-Plus also allows up to 12 medium-sized AJA mini-converters with integrated Mini-Con-X power connectors to be rack-mounted, or six larger AJA mini-converters with the DANTE-12GAM's new enclosure design, which includes an LCD display and a Mini-XLR power connector. Users can combine Mini-Con-X and Mini-XLR-powered AJA mini-converters within the DRM2-Plus using AJA adapter accessories.
The DRM2-Plus also allows a third-party USB hub to be mounted internally for communication with installed mini-converters. The DRM2-Plus and its accessories replace the previous DRM2 products.
