The added device makes it possible to open and close the hood while driving at a speed considered to be slow (up to 60 km/h /~38mph). Thanks to the built-in, fully automatic operator, which responds with a single touch, it is no longer necessary to hold down the switch; a simple touch is more than enough.
The module also allows you to control the hood with a single touch from the original manufacturer's long-distance key. A quick combination is enough to raise or lower the hood. In addition, the SmartTOP increases the distance range in which operations can be carried out with the hood. It is no longer necessary to have to be right next to the car and hold down the button. There is no need to make any changes to the original remote control or reception system.
"In addition to these main features, we have been able to integrate some additional features into our module," says director Sven Tornow. "The keyless operating system, built in from the factory, was taken into consideration and you can open or close the hood simply by touching the door handle, without having to take the key out of your pocket. It is also possible to remotely and independently operate the windows and start or stop the engine while the hood is running."
As with all previous SmartTOP modules, this product comes with a full set of programmable features, including a simple way to shut down the entire system, while maintaining all user preferences. All programming is done through a fully integrated input menu that shows all the options and settings that are available on the main desktop. The module is equipped with a standard USB port for quick and easy setup, whether based on a PC or Mac system, and for firmware updates. Support software and updates are available online and are free of charge. This is a unique service in the market segment of this product.
The installation of this kit is very easy and direct, thanks to the adapter of the type "plug and go" that is included and that is designed to measure.
