América Móvil gains 10.1% less in June, with a rebound in the second quarter

América Móvil gana un 10,1% menos en junio, con un repunte en el segundo trimestre

MEXICO CITY, 26 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The telecommunications operator of Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim, América Móvil, closed the first half with a net profit of 41,064 million Mexican pesos (2,444 million euros), which is 10.1% less than in the same period of 2012, although net profit in the second quarter of the year grew by 7.9%.

The gross operating profit (Ebitda) of the Latin American multinational was 128,860 million pesos (7,670 million euros), 4.5% less, while the company's total revenues stood at 387,760 million pesos (23,078 million euros) from January to June 2013, representing a decrease of 0.9%.

Specifically, the service revenues of Telefónica's main rival in Latin America fell by 1.1% in the first six months of 2013, to 348,867 million pesos (20,764 million euros), while equipment revenues rose by 22.9%, to 38,892 million pesos (2,313).

Regarding the second quarter, the company increased its net profit by 7.9%, to 14,193 million pesos (844 million euros), while total revenues grew by 1.6%, to 194,800 million pesos (11,592 million euros).

América Móvil ended The month of June with a total of 328.8 million accesses, of which 262 million were mobile customers, 30.7 million fixed line users, 18.2 million broadband customers and 17.8 million pay TV.

The company ended the month of June with a debt of 426,900 million pesos (25,405 million euros), which represents 54,700 million pesos (3,255 million euros) in the first six months of the year.
