Zinga reduced its losses by 31% in the second quarter

SAN FRANCISCO (UNITED STATES), 26 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The online video game company Zinga reduced its losses by 31% in the second quarter of 2013, although its red numbers reached 15.8 million dollars (11.9 million euros), compared to the 22.8 million dollars (17.2 million euros) it lost in the same period of 2012, according to the entity in a statement.

On the other hand, the turnover reached 230.7 million dollars (173.8 million euros) in this period, again 31% less than in 2012, when the company invoiced 332.4 million dollars (250.5 million euros).

As for the accumulated results in the first six months, the developer of games such as 'FarmVille' and 'Farmville 2' managed to reduce its losses by 89%, going from a negative figure of 108.2 million dollars (81.5 million euros) in 2012 to 11.7 million dollars (8.8 million euros).

The ceo of the company, Don Mattrick, has assured that "the next few years will be a time of phenomenal growth and Zinga has incredible assets to take advantage of". "To do this we have to go back to basics and have a long-term vision of our products and business, develop more efficient processes and strengthen execution throughout the company," he added.
