MADRID, 1 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -
Ono is investing an additional 150 million euros to its fiber optic network for the deployment of Docsis 3.0, which will offer 100 Mb to seven million homes, and the development of its smart television (TiVo), said on Thursday the general director of Residential of the company, Guillermo Mercader.
Mercader explained that thanks to its fiber optic network, in which the company has invested more than 9,000 million euros, the operator's customers can count on "differentiating and unique products and services in the market, which the competition cannot offer."
In this way, the executive stressed that Ono is the "only" operator in Spain capable of currently giving real speeds of up to 100 megabytes of upload, with 10 Mb of descent, to "millions of homes".
Specifically, the firm highlighted that Ono has more than 300,000 active customers in the ultra-fast speed segment since the launch a year ago of the 50 Mb.

As for its TiVo service, which will be marketed in October, the executive explained that it is an experience "never seen before" in Spain, with digital content, HD, 3D, recorder, video on demand, Internet video, applications, games and with convergence with 'tablets' and 'smartphones'.
The service, which will begin to be marketed first in Madrid and Barcelona and then extended to other areas, will have a price of 10 euros per month for those households that have access to Ono's state-of-the-art fiber optic network and also have its broadband service.
Mercader said that "only" the Ono network has enough capacity to offer a service such as TiVo, with the "highest quality" and that adapts to the new uses and consumption habits of the market.
