TV and Video interviewed the speakers who will be present at the Stress-Free Digital Television seminar to learn the reasons why you cannot miss any of the scheduled conferences.

On this occasion, the seminar will address the problem of the digitalization of production and post-production operations of audiovisual content. The event will provide information on new technologies, specific application cases and examples on how analog blackout and digital migration processes have been carried out in other countries. Topics such as workflows in digital intermediate processes, production for three screens, surround audio and 3D stereoscopy will also be addressed.

3D digital stereoscopic production for film and TV

  • Digital stereoscopy is the biggest opportunity for the industry in a generation.

Day One: Technological trends in broadcast and professional video production

  • Camcorder technologies continue to advance: CMOS sensors are challenging CCDs and digital video processing technologies are more sophisticated.
  • Large-format HD cameras with a single sensor are gaining popularity for the high-quality production of movies, TV dramas, and commercials.
  • Archival tapes based on non-linear recordings and associated workflows open up new flexibility in creativity but also pose challenges for interoperability.
  • A price/performance hierarchy in HD lenses has emerged and aligns with the wide range of HD cameras and camcorders .
  • The cost of storage is falling markedly and is driving further changes for production and post-production infrastructures.
  • 3D HD has gained a greater interest in the production of movies, video games and more recently in live television (especially at sporting events).

Day Two: Evolution in the construction of the HD image: implications in production values

  • Production equipment for 3D is moving in two directions: moving up in high-quality 1080/60P systems and down in costs of small format imaging systems. This produces a hierarchy in HD performance that is developed according to different genres of programs and production budgets.
  • Video recording has also branched out into many variants in terms of recording media, video signal processing, and compression algorithms.
  • Hd image performance assistance should be carefully evaluated in relation to the expected quality and expected service life of the programming.
