Grupo Multimedios acquires Grass Valley cameras

Mexico. Grupo Multimedios, which currently manages dozens of stations in Mexico and the southwestern United States, plans to expand its production to even more channels and locations next year. Grass Valley solutions, including LDX 82 Flex cameras with extended color gamut, HDR capabilities and acquisition in 1080i or 720p; and XCU Elite camera base stations that also support HD 1080i and 720p formats, will help Multimedia create high-quality content for its current and future channels.

"Our first priority is always to create high-quality content for our audience. The right solutions and efficient support for those solutions are fundamental to that mission," said Guillermo Franco, Senior Technical Director of Grupo Multimedios. "Not only do we have experience with the quality of Grass Valley's solutions, but their new local team has proven that they are here to be a true partner for us. The LDX 82 Flex cameras are a great addition to our production environments as we look to the future of Multimedia and Millennium TV."

The LDX 82 Flex offers the best sensitivity in all HD formats, including 1080p and a wide color gamut, taking advantage of patented Xensium-FT CMOS sensors that offer better sensitivity, higher resolution and XDR (Extended Dynamic Range) operations with a total of 15 F-stops. The LDX 82 series cameras are compatible with the XCU Elite base station which features an exclusive patent-pending base. The base can be pre-assembled and pre-wired in the rack, ensuring a secure mechanical and electrical connection, and allowing the XCU base station to easily slide in and out whenever needed.

"While Grupo Multimedios has been a loyal customer of Grass Valley for a long time and is very familiar with its industry-leading solutions, it has also been looking for a vendor with a strong local presence to offer support as it continues to grow," said Nahuel Villegas, Vice President, Caribbean and Latin America, Grass Valley.

He added that "Our value proposition with a consultative approach and an increased local presence in our newly expanded regional team are the main differentiators to support the Multimedia Group in its ambitious growth plans in the future."

As the company expands into new channels and new cities, the new LDX 82 Flex cameras offer the features and flexibility that Grupo Multimedios needs to continue creating a wide variety of premium programs in Spanish.
