Brazil. For the first time in Latin America, some products of the SAM company that have been launched during this year were presented. The setting was the SET Expo fair that was held in São Paulo.
Rafael Castillo, Vice President for Latin America of SAM, told TVyVideo+Radio that among the products presented are the Master Control Masterpiece, SD, HD and 4K that works in 12G IP or SDI, a product that was exhibited for the first time after NAB. They also presented the automation, playout and content distribution systems.
Another of the novelties presented by SAM was the agreement reached with Tata Communications to make virtualized playout. Tata's cloud is doing SAM virtualization hosting, making it easier for customers who want to implement a service model and not buy the equipment, or combine their playout strategy with their OTT strategy or streaming to mobile devices.
This is a service offered directly by Tata Communications, who have all the infrastructure available to do so and support customers. Initially the service is being offered in Brazil and will soon be taken to other Latin American countries.
Finally, Rafael Castillo stressed that Latin America continues to be a growth market for the company, with very good expectations for the second half of the year. In the particular case of Brazil, they have participated in the most important projects that have been carried out during the last months.
