Colombia. Promax's participation in Andina Link Cartagena is recurrent and does not cease to surprise with its advances in the field of telemetry. On this occasion we spoke with his representative, Xavier Rabadán and this is what he told us:
Xavier Rabadan: Promax is mainly manufacturer of electronic measuring instrumentation either for FTTH, for DTH, for cable operators and also satellite and digital terrestrial, we do all the integration of equipment. They are those that all the technicians of large operators or channels use to be able to help themselves in some way, both to make the integration and to look for problems in their own networks.
Luis Pinto: With which teams did you arrive at the fair?
Xavier Rabadán: The most representative team is the RangerNeo, the one that has had the most attention of the companies that visited us. The RangerNeo is a new class of multifunction analyzer for TV, Satellite and WiFi, designed to facilitate the work of installers, beyond their classic skills, to successfully overcome the challenges posed by the world of wireless communications and new video platforms.
Luis Pinto: What makes this team special?
Xavier Rabadán: The user is not used to having all their tools on the same platform, DOCSIS, fiber, IP. These devices are lighter, more powerful and with more functions. The measurement of Wi-Fi coverage, as well as the interference suffered by equipment connected to wireless networks due to spectrum oversaturation (including visualization of the real spectrum), make RangerNeo field meters the ideal instruments to diagnose problems derived from the Wi-Fi network and be able to solve them. Additionally, the new H.265 and DVB-T2 signals can be decoded.
The exceptional capabilities of its spectrum analyzer are the heart of the RangerNeo analyzers, along with its large number of functions, also highlights the compatibility with broadband LNB (wide band LNB), constellation diagram, dynamic echo analysis, etc. All this in very compact and light equipment, ideal for field work.
Luis Pinto: The company technologically, what developments is it doing?
Xavier Rabadán: Promax has been developing for 60 years, it is more than a manufacturer, it is the leading company in test and measurement systems and in equipment for broadcasting and distributing television signals. Our product lines include measuring instruments for cable TV, satellite TV, broadcasting, fiber optic and wireless networks and analyzers for FTTH and GPON. Among the latest developments of the company are DVB-T modulators, IP streamers or IP converters (ASI, DVB-T).
Our main focus is to develop within our ID departments everything that technicians really need not only but also the new products that can focus on new technologies or help in the face of these new technologies, is the proposal and the idea is that we operate on the subject of the new DOCSIS systems which is what is being handled more in the fiber optic part and in the FTTH part, it is where strong development is being made the most given the market need.
